I want to buy a 3-acre property 100-km from Bangalore to build a farmhouse. Is it possible to get 'agriculture status' from the Tahsildar to purchase the land?
If you qualify as an agriculturist as per the Karnataka Land Reforms Act you can make an application to the authority concerned, which can be an Assistant Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner and they can give you permission to acquire agricultural land in the area you propose to acquire it in.
