&#x3C;b&#x3E;Paypal suspends India Services&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

PayPal, eBay's payment system, has suspended all payments to personal accounts in India. In fact the online payment service took the action on Saturday.A blog post says &#x26;quot;Personal payments and transfers to Indian banks have been suspended &#x26;quot;while we work with our business partners and other stakeholders to address questions they have about the service&#x26;quot;. You can still make commercial payments to India, but merchants won't be able to withdraw the funds. Apart from irritating Indian eBayers, the unexplained action will also infuriate smaller technology and design freelancers who use the system for cheap money transfers.

Some bloggers suggest the problem is between PayPal and the Reserve Bank of India - India's central bank and financial regulator

			<title>Google introduces Public DNS Server</title>
			<link>http://www.itcafeonline.net/myspaceitis/google-introduces-public-dns-server-t-t284.html</link>

			<description>&#x3C;h5&#x3E;&#x3C;a href="http://www.itcafeonline.net/myspaceitis/" title="MySpaceITis"&#x3E;MySpaceITis&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/h5&#x3E;
&#x3C;b&#x3E;Google introduces Public DNS Server&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

As web pages become more complex and include more resources from multiple origin domains, clients need to perform multiple DNS lookups to render a single page. The average Internet user performs hundreds of DNS lookups each day, slowing down his or her browsing experience. As the web continues to grow, greater load is placed on existing DNS infrastructure.

Since Google's search engine already crawls the web on a daily basis and in the process resolves and caches DNS information, we wanted to leverage our technology to experiment with new ways of addressing some of the existing DNS challenges around performance and security. We are offering the service to the public in the hope of achieving the following aims:

&#8226;Provide end users with an alternative to their current DNS service. Google Public DNS takes some new approaches that we believe offer more valid results, increased security, and, in most cases, better performance.
&#8226;Help reduce the load on ISPs' DNS servers. By taking advantage of our global data-center and caching infrastructure, we can directly serve large numbers of user requests without having to query other DNS resolvers. ...

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Confession of Professional Finance Consultant.&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Every morning in the southern part of the country, mostly in my home state of Tamil Nadu, hundreds of astrologers sit below a shade, usually a tree and predict the future of their 'clients'. Their tool is a caged parrot. The mechanism - the parrot when allowed to come out of the cage is trained to pick one booklet from many that the astrologer spreads out.

And based on the clues printed in that particular booklet the astrologer predicts the future of his clients. Mostly the questions are predictable - problems relating to cash flows, business, finance, health, children and of course marriage. Years of experience has taught the astrologer to give non-standard yet satisfactory replies to these standard questions even to the most intelligent clients. Interesting, isn't it? Or is it mastery of the human psyche?

Cut to the metros. Every morning across the country, we the finance professionals begin our work as meticulously as the parrot-astrologers mentioned above, but with a crucial difference. Instead of the parrots we use laptops, and instead of the unsophisticated printed booklets, we rely on Microsoft office.

Without Excel spreadsheets and Power Point we will instantly be rendered hors de combat. Ask us any question about anything we will answer you only through these tools - even if it means introducing ourselves, our company or our services. We will use jargons or acronyms even for silly things. We have our own grammar for our operations. ...

&#x3C;b&#x3E;What's new about Sony PlayStation 3 Slim?&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Sony's sleeker and lighter version of its gaming console, called the PlayStation 3 Slim is now available in India. As PS3 moves into the fourth year of its launch, here's a comparison between the original (or classic) PS3 and PS3 Slim. As you can imagine, most of the differences lie in its physical attributes. Here are some -

PS3 Slim is 33% smaller and 36% lighter than the classic PS3.

The original PS3 has a shiny piano black glossy finish, while PS3 Slim has a Matt plastic finish to avoid those fingerprints on the console.

With PS3 Slim you save on electricity as it consumes 35% less power. ...

			<title>Are we really enjoying what we eat?</title>
			<link>http://www.itcafeonline.net/myspaceitis/are-we-really-enjoying-what-we-eat-t-t270.html</link>
		<pubDate>Thu, 26 Nov 2009 11:47:59 GMT</pubDate>
			<description>&#x3C;h5&#x3E;&#x3C;a href="http://www.itcafeonline.net/myspaceitis/" title="MySpaceITis"&#x3E;MySpaceITis&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/h5&#x3E;
&#x3C;b&#x3E;Are we really enjoying what we eat?&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Many of you may say..yes of course. But think again and next time when you start eating anything, remember this post, follow the suggested simple steps, derive immense pleasure in enjoying the aroma, taste and above all, eat less and be healthy. Many of us live under various kinds of stress. Sometimes we forget that we should eat our timely food. Can an engine run without fuel? When we remember to eat, the hunger makes you eat your food so fast that you gulp down everything on your plate so that the food goes into your stomach and you feel the fullness and belch and makes you happy?

&#x3C;span style="font-weight: bold"&#x3E;We struggle so much in life to enjoy life&#x3C;/span&#x3E; - eating food is the most important of all enjoyments. So, we must not only live to eat but also eat to enjoy and live. Tongue is the only part of our body that can feel the tastes like sweet, sour, hot and a host of other wonderful qualities of food and convey to your senses what you are eating to make you feel happy. IF YOU GULP DOWN THE FOOD WITHOUT PROPERLY ALLOWING THE TONGUE TO DO ITS DUTY THEN YOU ARE NOT ENJOYING LIFE - YOU ARE EATING TO LIVE AND NOT LIVING TO EAT.

&#x3C;span style="font-weight: bold"&#x3E;Try this simple method of enjoying what you eat:&#x3C;/span&#x3E; When you put some food into your mouth, nose does the job of conveying to you about the aroma of what you are about to eat, good. After that tongue with the help of your teeth, takes over the job of converting the solid food particles into bits and pieces - IT IS AT THIS STAGE that you absent mindedly allow those coarsely ground particles to let them into the food pipe to slide down to your stomach. Remember, neither the food pipe nor your stomach can feel the taste of the food that went down.

&#x3C;span style="font-weight: bold"&#x3E;Think for a minute and decide&#x3C;/span&#x3E; - DO NOT GULP THE COARSELY GROUND FOOD - let it roll, roll, roll on your tongue for a few moments more, more, more till the coarse particles become fine paste - spread that paste on your tongue and note what a wonderful feeling of the food you can feel. Right now, if you have a cookie or biscuit in your table drawer, put it in your mouth and practice the above method of enjoying the food that is needed by us for living. ...

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Five Top tax saving avenues in India&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

It's almost December and most companies will require the 80C investment proofs by the end of January 2010. Do not leave this task for the last moment. The earlier you start the better it is for you. Investment decisions should never be made in a hurry.

Below are the investment avenues to maximise tax benefits available under Sec 80C &#x26;amp; 80D.

Invest in ELSS schemes
It is one of the best investments to make if you can afford to take the risk. It is also one of the options where the lock in is least. There are a lot of ELSS (Equity Linked Savings Scheme) that offer a good avenue to invest to save tax as well as avail growth. SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) is a good way to invest in this asset class as it averages your cost over the year. ...

&#x3C;b&#x3E;The process of criminal trial in India&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

1. The process of criminal trial in India

The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (the CrPC) is the procedural law providing the machinery for punishment of offenders under the substantive criminal law, be it the Indian Penal Code, 1860 or any other penal statute.

The CrPC contains elaborate details about the procedure to be followed in every investigation, inquiry and trial, for every offence under the Indian Penal Code or under any other law. It divides the procedure to be followed for administration of criminal justice into three stages: namely investigation, inquiry and trial.

Investigation is a preliminary stage conducted by the police and usually starts after the recording of a First Information Report (FIR) in the police station. If the officer-in-charge of a police station suspects the commission of an offence, from statement of FIR or when the magistrate directs or otherwise, the officer or any subordinate officer is duty-bound to proceed to the spot to investigate facts and circumstances of the case and if necessary, takes measures for the discovery and arrest of the offender. ...

&#x3C;b&#x3E;How to - Earn higher interest rates on Savings Bank Account&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

For long, savings accounts have been the sole source of savings option for individuals across the country, despite the low rate of interest offered at 3.5 per cent!

The reason for this is that the money in your savings account is liquid cash. You could use it for day-to-day transactions, to pay your bills, EMIs, and the list is endless.

On the other hand you have the fixed deposit that gives you a higher rate of interest say at 8 per cent but cannot offer you liquid cash. In other words your money will be locked for a particular period of time and you will have no access to it during the agreed period.

How about some facility that would give you the best of both worlds, the liquidity of a savings account and the interest rate of a fixed deposit? Auto-sweep facility does exactly this. ...

&#x3C;b&#x3E;What is - Personal Accident Insurance - Explained - India&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Talk to any financial planner and you are made to realise that your insurance need is much higher than what you are currently covered for and the first question that comes to mind is the exorbitant cost of the high insurance cover you need. On talking in detail you understand that a good part of the insurance need can be fulfilled by personal accident insurance at a cost which is just 2 per cent to 5 per cent of premium to be paid for a normal endowment type life insurance policy. To understand it with an illustration: Attachment 2

While both are not fully comparable, accident insurance is always handy when high-risk cover is required and the cost involved under normal life insurance is exorbitant.

Why accident insurance?
The probability of a young person dying of natural reasons is much lower as compared to the probability of accidental death. So if we have to buy insurance for a 30 year old person earning Rs 5 lakh a year, his insurance need would be close to Rs 1 crore which is certainly going to cost a lot of money, say around Rs 4-5 lakh a year. ...

&#x3C;b&#x3E;New Oracle Support Portal - Customer Feed back&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

A number of Oracle users are infuriated by reported access and performance issues with the vendor's new My Oracle Support portal, which superseded the long-standing Metalink site on Nov. 6.

Oracle has been preparing users for the transition for months, through official blog posts and notifications. But even before the Nov. 6 switchover, many decried the new portal, citing factors such as its Flash interface, which rendered it unusable at client sites that restrict the use of Flash.

In a partial concession to those complaints, Oracle recently said it would include an HTML interface for the site. However, frustrated users this week said that both versions are plagued with difficulties.

&#x26;quot;We've been having severe problems with the new My Oracle Support all day. Sometimes we can't log in. When we can log in, we can't get an SR logged -- it errors out at various points in the process,&#x26;quot; a user calling himself &#x26;quot;Mike&#x26;quot; said in a post Monday to an official Oracle forum. ...
