Royal Flovours of Mysore, Mysore Pak, Mysore Masala Dosa, Cuisine, Royal Flavour, How to prepare Mysore Pak, Mysore Masala Dosa

Mysore Masala Dosa: Mysore Masala Dosa is soft on the inside and crisp on the outside and is served with a lump of melting butter, tasty chutney's and Palya.

Ingredients: 4 Glasses raw rice, 1/2 glass chana dal, 1 glass urad dal, 2 tea spoon methi seeds, 1 handful avalakki, salt and 2 tea spoon sugar.

Method: Soak all the above ingredients in water for about 6-8 hours, Grind into dosa batter consistency, Add Salt and Sugar, let it ferment overnight, Make dosas next day, Serve along with Potato Palya and Coconut Chutney.

Potato Palya: Ingredients: Boiled Potatoes, Boiled Peas, 1 lemon

Method: Season with Mustard Seeds, Chana dal, urad dal, currry leaves, green chillies, boiled potatoes, peas, salt and mix with lemon juice

Mysore Pak: The Delicious South Indian dessert

Ingredients: 2 Cups gram flour, 2 Cups Ghee, 2 Cups Sugar, 1-1/2 Cups Water.

Method: Melt one cup of ghee in a pan, Add gram flour and fry it over low heat untill light brown, Take a heavy bottomed sauce pan, Add sugar and water. Boil Untill it becomes a sticly syrup, Add gram flour an cook it over medium heat - Stirring continously, Add the remaining ghee and mix well, When the mixture starts leaving the sides of the pan - take it out and spread it on a greased tray, Cut into squares or triangles with a sharp knife.

Superb !! Mouth Watering delicacies.. One more sweet dish - prepared specifically on Saraswathi Puja during Dasara Festival

Yeriappa

Ingredients:
1 Cup Rice
½ Cup Fresh Coconut
½ Cup Jaggery
½ tsp Cardamom Powder
Oil for deep frying

Method:
Soak Rice for one hour. Drain out the Rice. Grind Rice, Coconut, Jaggery and Cardomom to a fine paste. Add water to get a Dosa Batter consistency.

Heat Oil in a kadai/frying pan and take a spoonful of batter and pour it into the Oil and deep fry until they turn brown. Remove on a kitchen towel.
