			<description>&#x3C;h5&#x3E;&#x3C;a href="http://www.itcafeonline.net/travel-living/" title="Travel &#x26;amp; Living"&#x3E;Travel &#x26;amp; Living&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/h5&#x3E;

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Bangalore - Yercaud - Kodai - Munnar - Trip&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Planning a 10 day trip to hill stations. Its going to be Bangalore - Yercaud - Kodaikanal - Munnar - Thekaddi (Probably) and then back to Bangalore. Will update the post as I am closer to the day and also will update back after the actual trip.

The route sure seems to be an exciting one after what I have heard about NH7 being as good as a air strip. Hopefully it truns out to be as good as it is made out to be. But any way a non bumpy road should be good enough as well.

The route and travel is approximately going to be around 600 KMS one way if we are going to just stick to Munnar and leave out Thekaddy. 1000+ Kms of driving and oh damn! I am looking forward to it. Hopefully summers not going to be hard on me.

Just need to get the engine oil changed on the vehicle and it should be up and ready for the roar. Alrighty, as of now I have narrowed down on the place of accomodation on each of this location. Beautiful view from balcony is the most important factor. Do not wish to cover every picnic place in each of the venue. The enigmatic look, the pure bliss right from the balcony of the place we are going to stay is the key. ...

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Weekend Trip to Varahaswamy temple at Kalahalli Mandya&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Across the lush green sugarcane and paddy fields of Mandya District in Karnataka, a drive down rural &#x3C;span style="font-weight: bold"&#x3E;Kalahalli in K R Pet taluk&#x3C;/span&#x3E; reveals its own saga &#8211; a place reminiscent of history, a temple that speak volumes of the grandeur of yesteryear and a beautiful idol in the picturesque settings of a riverbank.

&#x3C;span style="font-weight: bold"&#x3E;The gigantic Bhoo Varahaswamy or Pralaya Varaha Moorthi temple -  An ancient, monolithic structure that stands alone on the backwaters of Krishna Raja sagar Dam where Cauvery, Hemavathi and Laxman Thirtha rivers join to form sangama.&#x3C;/span&#x3E;

In fact, this place is one of the many lesser&#8211;known places in Karnataka that remain unnoticed. This marvelous &#x3C;span style="font-weight: bold"&#x3E;Bhoo Varahaswamy &#x3C;/span&#x3E;or &#x3C;span style="font-weight: bold"&#x3E;Pralaya Varaha Moorthi&#x3C;/span&#x3E; Temple is a case in point which is neglected for decades for reasons best known to powers-that-be.

This ancient temple does not have a recorded history of its own though locals say many things in many things in many words. The gigantic Pralaya Varaha Moorthi is 18feet tall, carved out of a single black stone or saligrama shila with six-feet-tall, Bhoodevi seated on his left thigh. ...

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Ooty Coonoor Cut off due to heavy rains&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Due to the Northeast Monsoon that continue to lash in several parts of Tamil Nadu , Sheets of water inundating Ooty, Kotagiri and Coonoor towns, the picturesque Nilgiris wore a battered look. Landslips and heavy rains claimed more than 29 more lives in the hill district , taking the toll to 43 in last two days.

&#x3C;span style="font-weight: bold"&#x3E;Uprooted trees and stagnating water blocked traffic and cut off the road link between Coonoor and Ooty &#x3C;/span&#x3E;even as land slips triggered a trail of house collapses and human tragedies.

&#x3C;span style="font-weight: bold"&#x3E;Almost all major tourist attractions were under waist- deep water as drainage systems were blocked in Ooty, official sources said.&#x3C;/span&#x3E;

&#x3C;span style="font-weight: bold"&#x3E;The national highways, coursing through Ooty-Coonoor-Mettupalayam, has been closed for traffic as landslips and uprooted trees have damaged the road near Lovedale in Ooty. The road via Kotagiri is now the only route to reach the tourist retreat, Ooty. &#x3C;/span&#x3E; ...

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Developing tourism zones: for faster development&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

In tourism destinations blessed with a wide natural diversity, the scale and extent of development will often proceed to the point at which extended zones of tourism are likely to emerge. They may be formed by a combination of resorts, enclaves and other types of developments like,

&#8226;	Villa complexes
&#8226;	Holiday villages
&#8226;	Caravan sites ...

&#x3C;b&#x3E;Coffee may be good for chronic hepatitis C patients&#x3C;/b&#x3E;

Patients of chronic hepatitis C, who drink three or more cups of coffee daily, have a 53 percent lower risk of liver disease progression than non-coffee drinkers, says a new study.

The study, led by Neal Freedman of National Cancer Institute (NCI), found that patients with hepatitis C related cirrhosis who did not respond to treatment benefited from increased coffee intake. No effect on liver was observed in patients who drank black or green tea.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infects approximately 2.2 percent of the world's population, including three million Americans. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) cites HCV as the leading cause of liver transplantation in US, accounting for 8,000 to 10,000 deaths, annually.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimated that three to four million people contract HCV each year with 70 percent becoming chronic cases that can lead to cirrhosis of the liver and liver cancer. ...
